Dear parents and carers, As temperatures are set to be very high for the remainder of this week, we are making some temporary adjustments to help keep our pupils cool and comfortable. Uniform and Sun Protection: Alternative Uniform: Children may wear plain black or blue school/PE shorts with their regular school top instead of trousers. Lightweight summer school dresses are also a great option. We have a supply of spare summer dresses available if any families need them—please just let us know. Sunscreen: With more skin exposed to the sun, please apply sunscreen before your child comes to school. If you would like them to reapply it during the day, please send a bottle in with them. Please ensure your child’s name is clearly written on the bottle. Hats & Water: Please ensure your child comes to school with a sun hat and a refillable water bottle. There will be plenty of opportunities throughout the day for them to refill their bottles. School Adjustments: Our staff will be highly vigilant in monitoring the children for signs of overheating. During lunchtime, the main hall will be open to provide a cool, shaded space for children to take respite from the heat. Thank you for your continued cooperation.
