Year 6 have written speeches imagining they are Winston Churchill during WW2.

Ladies and gentlemen of valour, citizens of resolve and defenders of liberty!

Today, we stand shoulder to shoulder to face Adolf Hitler’s stubborn-hearted regime. We have to triumph against this malicious dictatorship or we shall never see the light of liberation again! The shadow of tyranny looms large over our world, threatening to plunge humanity into eternal suffering. In our hearts burns a flicker of hope: hope that makes us believe victory is not a distant dream! We refuse to cower in the face of a mad man’s twisted ideology! We deserve respect! Let us forge a brighter future for generations together.

Now is the time to rise to the call of duty – our country is depending on us! We will stand united against injustice and oppression. We will fight with valiant, courageous power. The road ahead will be arduous, but we shall overcome any and all obstacles in our path. Together we will confront the forces of evil with unwavering defiance fuelling our strength. Let us honour the sacrifices of those who have came before us, and ride into war with determination! Humanity still plays a part in our lives, even though some nations may have forgot what humanity is.

This is the greatest war effort this country has ever known. We shall never surrender to Hitler’s cruel judgement! Victory is out there: victory will be ours!

My fellow citizens,

Today we shatter the chains once holding us tight, our spirits full of peace and determination. Our sacrifice will be remembered for centuries; our triumph being powered by unity; our triumph is undaunted when we are together. We are one, we are equal and we shall take immense pride in that fact. So, I call upon you, join me, to vanquish Hitler’s tight hold of the earth. Refuse temptation, we will never surrender to him or the face of tyranny.

Foreign forces try their best to oppress our hopes and dreams, taking away liberation from our souls, bombing us relentlessly – we look this regime in their eyes and only see the blood of the innocent.

Do we really want to give up our sacred dignity? We will never follow Adolf Hitler into his chambers of oppression and suffering. Britain is not weak and never will be.

Your country needs your immediate service to win this horrible war! Let us strongly march into German territory, our heads looking up, fight and with immense pride – this war is ours. This war will not be simple but enough is enough.

This is history, and we are entering the darkest chapter – we have been shown Death’s Kingdom, it is not right. Join me to fight, join me to battle, join me in battle. We cannot just watch as Adolf Hitler ravages our European allies, we cannot.

No matter who you are – soldier, worker or anyone – you can play your part in our marvellous success. You are not as weak as you presume, that I have full confidence in. Resilience is the key to the end of adversity, we just have not found the lock yet. We were born for this, to protect our loved ones and family. This victory is ours.
