We were thrilled to welcome the renowned poet and author, Matt Goodfellow to our school today as part of the Stockton Children’s Book of the Year Awards. His visit has been eagerly anticipated, particularly as his book The Final Year has been a firm favourite among our pupils since the start of the academic year.

In preparation for the visit, pupils in Years 5 and 6 had the opportunity to conduct in-depth research and listen to samples of his extraordinary poetry online. They also wrote their own poems in response to his inspiring work.

For many of our pupils, it was a dream come true to meet such an accomplished author. We are all eagerly awaiting the release of his new book, The First Year.
